Rnews has just been upgraded to a new version for my RSS aggregation page. Major changes are support for UTF-8 feeds and the display of a brief snippet of an item alongside its title. Full details of what’s new are available at the Rnews site. This upgrade solved a few issues with international feeds.

Ignite
Ignite (main site). Five minutes, 20 slides, fifteen seconds each. Kind of like stand-up comedy, karaoke, and PowerPoint, all at once. Started in Seattle, but now expanding to Portland and other cities. To see more, including some great talks that aren’t showcased on the main site, jump to a less-slick presentation of talks from Ignite Portland #5.
Recently updated www.craigaalseth.com to have a simpler layout, fluid width columns, and a horizontal menu that’s more usable on mobile devices. Also updated email and other contact information on a contacts page.

Trying out Rnews for server-side RSS aggregation
After looking at a number of server-side RSS feed aggregators, I decided to give Rnews a try. Follow this link to see it in action. There are a lot of web-based RSS feed aggregators out there, I tried this one because it’s under the GPL and you can host it where you like.
